Geert Wilders Speech on Asylum, Safety & Immigration | Dutch Parliament Full Address

Look in the Mirror

“Take a good look in the mirror.” That is where this conversation must start. Reflect on your inability to address one of the biggest problems facing the Dutch: the relentless influx of asylum seekers while you remain politically paralyzed.

People are tired. They no longer support the policies being enacted now. They demand a total transformation. This is precisely why my party gained so much support last time and why we promised to return to the electorate if we failed to deliver.

Where we Stand: Cultural Crisis and Insecurity

We are heading toward a cultural crisis and, in terms of safety, we are approaching the edge of a precipice. Ordinary Dutch people feel unsafe in their own streets, are becoming poorer, cannot afford or find a home, and struggle to make ends meet.

Instead of solving these problems, you point the finger at me. Take seriously that people are fed up with their country being flooded by migrants and asylum seekers. That frustration is not abstract; it is felt at kitchen tables across the Netherlands.

Political Paralysis and Broken Promises

Parties such as D66 have tucked a few asylum paragraphs into their programs, and yet when they had responsibility they did nothing. You have governed for decades and created the conditions for this chaos. People do not get angry because someone speaks bluntly; they get angry because every day they see that nothing changes.

You all have ensured this. Our open borders have led to a disaster in the Netherlands. In every possible way the Netherlands is fading away from our standards. I will not apologize for saying this.

Facts on Crime and Immigration

I will speak plainly with statistics. Not everyone who comes here is a criminal, but the over-representation in criminal behavior can be alarming, sometimes reaching up to 35 times more than among the Dutch. Shockingly, around 50% of the suspects in the most terrible crimes, from rape to assault and threats, come from the people that you have allowed into this country. These are not my claims alone but figures referenced from the national statistics office CBS.

Because these are official numbers, I will not apologize for presenting them. Dutch citizens who are tired and desperate ask: please change something. That is a legitimate demand.

Extremism, Responsibility, and the Hypocrisy of the Chamber

Do you know the best way to tackle extremism? It is not by taking turns shouting at me in this chamber. By doing so you only show your own incompetence. Respect those people watching at home and take seriously their grievances. Many see the entire chamber united against me and feel abandoned.

People are extremely frustrated that 15% of the suspects are on alert status and that Dutch citizens feel deprioritized while status holders are preferred for certain resources. When people no longer recognize their own neighborhoods, they can be driven to anger. Address the root causes and extremism will fade. Insults will not solve this problem.

Democratic Resistance and Local Action

Democracy gives citizens tools to protest and to reverse decisions they find unacceptable. Look at Zwolle. A council decision that would have approved asylum seeker centres was overturned after public resistance. That is democracy in action and that is how the people can respond: resist, democratically and non violently.

When a law is passed and it proves wrong, we amend it or overturn it. I encourage local democratic protest against the hundredth or thousandth asylum centre if communities are overwhelmed. That is legitimate, and I will keep pushing for it in the proper democratic channels.

Accountability: Who is to Blame?

No, Chair, the blame rests with those who have held power for decades. Parties such as the Labour Party and GroenLinks have refused to curb asylum, family reunification, and secondary migration. You have let everyone in and created chaos.

We see serious consequences: a worrying increase in criminal activity, a society that feels less safe, and public finances strained. You propose ever more centres and funding while ordinary Dutch suffer. You could have acted long ago, but you chose not to. Take a good look in the mirror.

My Promise and the Final Appeal

I stand here as one of the rare voices of honesty in this chamber. I will never apologize for speaking the truth. I said it plainly: I will keep doing this, always democratically and without violence. If we fail to deliver we will return to the electorate, and the voters will demand the significant changes this country needs.

You can try to blame me for everything from climate change to foreign conflicts, but the Dutch people are not insane. They know who is telling the truth and who is playing political games. For the sake of safety, for the sake of our culture, for the sake of ordinary Dutch citizens who struggle daily, change direction now.
